R&H Financial was founded in 2006 by Rob Hopkins and minority investor Kevin Rudeen, owner of Rudeen Development LLC. For 12 years, Rob grew his tax practice while also serving as the controller for Kevin’s numerous companies in Liberty Lake. After 12 years, Rob’s tax practice had grown and he moved R&H to Davenport after he ceased performing day-to-day controller activities for Rudeen.

In 2018, Davenport native Andy Schreck, CPA joined Rob’s team. Together they purchased and renovated a building in Davenport and officially opened their new office that fall. 

Collectively, Rob & Andy have experience in a number of industries, including real estate, agriculture, construction, retail & restaurants, not to mention helping any number of independent contractors, entrepreneurs, and individuals in their unique situations.

Rob Hopkins, CPA

Rob is the President of R&H Financial and brings over 30 years of tax accounting experience to the firm. Rob provides personalized tax services to individuals and companies of all sizes and industries. He has extensive experience with the construction industry, ag producers, small business entities, and personalized tax and estate planning. He enjoys researching and providing high level service, planning, and advice to clients of all sizes and business categories in this ever-changing environment of tax laws and requirements.

Rob was born in Spokane, Washington, but traveled the world since his father was a helicopter pilot in the US Army. When his family was stationed in Zaire, Africa, Rob made the decision to move back to his grandparents’ Creston, Washington, home and graduate from high school state side. His summers were spent working on various family farms throughout Spokane and Lincoln counties .

Rob attended Washington State University and received a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis on Accounting in 1989. During his time at college, he also re-connected with an old friend from high school, Merilla Copenhaver. They were married in May of 1990 and have called Davenport home since 1992, where they raised their four children, Cody, Shane, Nathan, and Macie.

Rob’s first job was as a tax accountant with McFarland & Alton, a large regional firm in Spokane which was later acquired by Moss Adams. Surrounded by industry veterans, Rob quickly became submerged in a wide range of industry tax code pertaining to construction, agriculture, hospitality, and banking industries. After six years of learning and providing high level service, Rob was approached with the opportunity to become the sole tax partner for a small firm, establishing Langenhorst, Norwood & Hopkins in 1996. Ten years later Rob once again made a career change becoming the controller and tax accountant for Rudeen Development while still maintaining and growing his own tax practice of R&H Financial.

Finally, in 2018, Rob moved his tax practice to a home office for a year, before opening the current R&H Office on Harker Street in Davenport.

Rob is an active person who loves to be outdoors as much as possible. You can find him busy all four seasons golfing, water and snow skiing, hunting and whenever possible, doing these activities with his family. One claim to fame Rob has , he is one of 47 people who have played in all 30 years of Hoopfest. This is a streak he hopes to keep alive for years to come.

Andy Schreck, CPA

Andy joined R&H Financial in the summer of 2018 after spending four years working primarily in agricultural accounting and taxation. Since then, his experience has expanded to include construction, small business start-up, payroll, and bookkeeping with Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online. He thrives on active engagement with clients to educate and advise on their unique situations.

Andy was born and raised in Davenport, Washington, where his parents operated a small business selling auto parts. Growing up, Andy worked at his parents’ store stocking shelves and greeting the public. Andy drove tractor and combine during harvest for a local farm throughout his high school and college years.

Andy attended Washington State University and received a Bachelor of Arts with a Management emphasis in 2005. After graduation, Andy followed his passion for beer and moved to the Puget Sound to work for Georgetown Brewing Company. Andy was in the beverage industry for eight years, serving mostly as a sales representative and account manager, learning the value of communication, follow-through, and turning professional relationships into genuine friendships.

In 2007, Andy married Davenport-native, Janie Booth, and they moved back to Davenport in 2013 to be closer to family and friends and raise their children, Charlie & Murphy, in their home town.

Andy returned to school at Eastern Washington University to attain his Bachelor of Arts degree with an Accounting emphasis. This was followed by earning his CPA license and a career in public accounting.

During his down time, Andy enjoys all things summer – family camping trips, spending time at the lake, and catching up with friends around a good fire.
